NCPCares Selects PA Women Work and the Young Women’s Resource Center as its 2018 Supported Charities

(Syosset, NY, November 29, 2018) – The National Consumer Panel’s (NCP) NCP Cares community outreach program today announced that it will support two organizations dedicated to women’s empowerment, PA Women Work and The Young Women’s Resource Center. Both organizations will each receive a donation of $5,000. The charities were selected based on the results of a nationwide poll of NCP’s panel members.

“This year, we chose to recognize and celebrate women across the country by asking our panel members to nominate organizations and programs that help women through support and counseling, job placement and other resources,” said John Toomey, Chief Operating Officer. “Once again, NCP was deluged with inspiring entries about organizations whose missions are most impactful within their local communities. We narrowed our selection down to five organizations with great difficulty, and then invited our panel members to help us with the final selection of the top two.”

Pennsylvania Women Work (Pittsburgh, PA)
Pennsylvania women Work is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to empowering women for more than two decades by helping them find lasting employment that pays a family-sustaining wage.

The Young Women’s Resource Center (Des Moines, IA)
The Young Women’s Resource Center supports, educates and empowers young women ages 10-21. They explore body image, self-esteem, physical health and healthy relationships.

NCP Cares is National Consumer Panel’s special community outreach program serving on both a local and national level through charitable donations and volunteer initiatives. The mainstay of the program is an annual charitable donation to organizations in our panel members’ own communities.

Each year, NCP selects a category (homeless shelters, veterans, pet shelters, etc.) and invites panel members to nominate a local organization by sharing with us how they make an impact.  Out of thousands of entries, the NCP Cares board carefully reviews the nominations, selecting anywhere from two or more to share a charitable donation of $10,000.
