NCPCares Selects Always & Furever and Michigan Animal Rescue League as its 2019 Supported Charities

(Syosset, NY, December 3, 2019) – National Consumer Panel’s (NCP) NCP Cares community outreach program today announced that it will support two organizations dedicated to the care and welfare of animals — Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary and Michigan Animal Rescue League.  Both organizations have each received a donation of $5,000.

The organizations were selected based on the results of a nationwide poll of NCP’s panel members.

“Animals rights are something very close to the hearts of not only our team here at NCP, but those of our panel members across the continental United States,” said John Toomey, Chief Operating Officer, “Animals cannot advocate for themselves, so it is our responsibility to do that for them.”

NCP received thousands of nominations for organizations dedicated to caring for animals of all types.  “It was no easy task to narrow our selection down to a top five,” added Toomey, “but once we did, we knew only our panel members could help us select our two winners.”

After reviewing the finalists, NCP panel members voted and chose:

Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary
Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary, located in Spring Hill, Kansas,  is a loving, safe refuge for homeless senior dogs. Our residents will live out their lives in a comfortable living room setting with lots of space to relax or romp outside in fenced grounds at beautiful Ever After Farm. There they can comfortably live out their lives, be they measured in weeks, months or years.

From the Always & Furever Team…
“A&F is forever grateful to NCP for selecting us to receive a $5,000 charitable donation in November, 2019.  A&F provides senior dogs, considered un-adoptable because of their age and /or health, a home in a loving, healthy, living room setting where they can comfortably live out their lives, be that measured in weeks, months or years. The sanctuary celebrated its grand opening in May of 2018, and since that time has saved over 500 senior dogs from near certain euthanasia! The $5,000 donation will pay the vet bills for dozens of senior dogs, saving lives and helping A&F further its work to save forgotten senior dogs. Its partners like NCP that allow organizations such as A&F to have such a positive impact on their communities.”

Michigan Animal Rescue League
The Mission of the Michigan Animal Rescue League is to be the community leader in nonprofit animal welfare, providing the highest quality of life to dogs and cats through rescue, medical care, short-and long-term sanctuary, adoption, education and outreach. At MARL they believe the quality of “the wait” for a forever home can make all the difference in the future of an animal. At MARL, animals have exercise time, snuggle time, and most importantly, quality time with people who love them.

“MARL would like to thank National Consumers Panel’s NCP Cares program for granting us this amazing opportunity and award.  These funds will help provide homeless dogs and cats, with no other place to turn, a second chance at having a happy home life they all deserve.  We will be able to continue our mission to provide the highest quality of life while they wait for their forever home.  The dogs and cats will be provided not only with food and shelter but socialization and enrichment time along with love and proper medical care, including spay and neuter.  Thank you NCP Cares for helping MARL take care of our community’s animals in the greatest need.”

About NCP Cares
NCP Cares
is National Consumer Panel’s special community outreach program serving on both a local and national level through charitable donations and volunteer initiatives. The mainstay of the program is an annual charitable donation to organizations in our panel members’ own communities.

Each year, NCP selects a category (homeless shelters, veterans, pet shelters, etc.) and invites panel members to nominate a local organization by sharing with us how they make an impact.  Out of thousands of entries, the NCP Cares board carefully reviews the nominations, selecting anywhere from two or more to share a charitable donation of $10,000.
