NCP Blog: Halloween Movie Time

Halloween is next week and that means October is almost over. This month went by so fast, and winter will be here before we know it.

Our most recent In The Know (ITK) shared info about how our panel members celebrate-or don’t celebrate- this spooky holiday. A popular seasonal activity is to watch Halloween-themed movies or TV shows. One of my favorite memories is watching It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown with my family every year while eating a bowl of popcorn.

Whether you like scary movies or more family-friendly flicks, there’s something for everyone!

Favorite Halloween Movies By State

Like many of you, one of my favorite things to do in October is watch scary movies. Halloween is a popular time for new movies to be released, especially horror movies. It’s also a good time to rewatch old favorites! My favorite spooky show is Scream, and my family is currently watching all the movies in the series.

Preply, an online language learning marketplace, did a survey to find out what the most popular Halloween movies are. They used the IMDb list of the 100 most popular Halloween movies and then analyzed Google Trends data. According to their results, “It” was the most popular movie across the country, and it was also the most popular movie in more than a dozen states.

The other seasonal flicks in the top five included Halloween, Clue, Silent Hill, and Terrifier.
