National Consumer Panel Values Communication as #1 for Employee Satisfaction

Consumer Research Organization Named a 2018 Newsday Top Workplace

{Syosset, NY} {November 15, 2018} – In a U.S. economy where employers spend over $100 billion annually to improve employee engagement, National Consumer Panel (NCP), recently named a Top Workplace for 2018 by Newsday, shares a few tips to ensuring employee satisfaction.

NCP is a joint-operation between Nielsen and IRi that provides insight into how American households use and rate consumers products. The company was selected for the award in the small employer category. An overwhelming 81 percent of NCP’s 70 employees feel that the company operates from a strong set of values and allows them to feel a part of something meaningful.

  • Encourage each other: NCP employees have an opportunity to recognize each other’s performance. Peer-to-peer acknowledgments are submitted through an award board.
  • Monthly thank you events: The organization hosts monthly events within the office and off-site to thank team members for their contributions.
  • NCP gives back: Through its quarterly $20,000 sweepstakes giveaway and charitable endeavors driven by panel members nationwide, NCP team members are a part of an organization that supports local communities throughout the United states.

The Top Workplaces list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”

“For employers and employees alike, the key to a long relationship begins with workplace satisfaction. We are pleased and delighted to receive this special honor,” John Toomey, chief operating officer of NCP. “At National Consumer Panel where our business is all about connecting with our panelists nationwide and learning about what’s important to them, it’s important that we also treat our employees with the same exceptional care. This acknowledgment from Newsday reinforces everything that we believe about the value of quality communication.”
